Scientific Tucsonan is the University of Arizona School of Journalism’s first multimedia magazine for digital tablets. This inaugural edition features ten pieces packed with stories, photos, videos and infographics contributed by students in Professor Carol Schwalbe’s Multimedia Storytelling: Science and Technology class. The course—open to all majors and grade levels—drew an eclectic mix of journalism and science students ranging from undergrads to Ph.Ds.

Inside Scientific Tucsonan, you’ll find a range of science and technology stories that include a trip to a modern observatory, tales of ornery wildlife, primers on sustainable living and a heart-wrenching introduction to a family ravaged by Alzheimer’s disease. A user guide is included to help first-time digital readers navigate the magazine.
